There was an excellent turnout for Carn Brea & Helston’s seventh Invitational Meet which saw numerous winners spread across the age groups.

Top swimmer was Truro City nine-year-old Rory Sim, who picked up six wins in the boys’ events.

Louis Trenerry, of Penzance, came out on top in four 14-year events as did Leyton Salmon, of Truro City, in the 13-year sections.

There were three-time winners in the 12-year class with Harvey O’Dell, of St Ives, and Ben Laidler, of Carn Brea & Helston, successful in three events, as was Mace Dickinson of the same Carn club.

The girls’ events were equally well contested with Amy Georgelin, of Truro City, a top performer in winning four ten-year events.

The next best were three-time winners Charlotte Bell and Zara Elliott, both of Penzance, coming out on top in the 15-years-and-over age group, the same as Anjelica Rodgers, of Carn Brea & Helston, and Verity Lynes, of Launceston, in the 14-year events.

Other three-time winners were Gracie Penrose (13 years, St Austell), Isabella Cridland (12 years, Newquay) and Sky Bowden-Inoue (11 years, Newquay).
