Molly poses in front of the camera

Cornwall international pole vaulter Molly Caudery’s year has ended with another high as she was selected to star in a special photo presentation for the England Commonwealth Games team.

Only two athletes were invited to the photo shoot in Essex recently and 17-year-old Caudery, from Illogan, who is the youngest member of the athletics squad, was asked to represent the female contingent.

“There was myself and a male race walker alongside representatives from all the other sports taking part in Brisbane next spring,” said Caudery.

“I am not sure how I was picked but I felt very proud to be asked and it was a really cool thing to do.”

Not that the life of an aspiring model is all glamour. “We were there for two hours just to get this one photo!” added Caudery.

“The photographer took lots and he would ask us to move one foot an inch to the right then a bit to the left. It certainly took a long time but it was worth it and the photo looks really good.”
