Nick added to Raiders on eve of first game

Plymouth Raiders added six-foot-one Croatian Nick Tomsick to their roster ahead of their opening British Basketball League fixture against West Country rivals Bristol Flyers last night, which the Bristol club won 87-75.

The 26-year-old guard attended Fort Lewis College in Colorado, USA and averaged an impressive 20.4 points per game in his senior year, making the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference All-Star first team.

Last season Tomsick played for KK Zabok in the A1 Liga, Croatia’s top division, where he averaged 8.5 points per game.
Said Radiers head coach Gavin Love: “Nick adds speed and creativity to our back court, together with deadly outside shooting.

“He can also play both the point and shooting guard position, giving us additional versatility, something that will be essential as the season progresses.”

The new recruit is already enjoying his time in Plymouth. “I’m very happy to have signed with the Plymouth Raiders,” said Tomsick. “I’ve only been here a couple of days, but everything in the club has been very professional and I couldn’t ask for anything more.

“I look forward to getting on the court with my team-mates; getting this club back into the play-offs, and having a magical season.”
