BRIDPORT Bowls Club were beaten 63-58 in the friendly triples match against the South Dorset Bowls Association where the top triple was  S.Jenkins, C.Robins & P. Tibble.

But Wells were defeated 120-87 in the next friendly with M.Craddock, S.Strange & M.Soloman the top trio.

Bridport 1 team had a good 69-51 win over Portland BO Dorset League, scores; B. Jones, K.Brooks, M.Soloman & C.Thorne 22-18, B.Iverson, D.Roberts, B.Shortland & B.Conisbee 25-17, C.Bosher, B.Medland, M.Smith & B.Rumble 22-16.

But Bridport 2 team went down 64-45 against Portland BO with just one winning rink – A.Bird B. Pratt M Stephenson P Wilson who picked up two on the last end to win 19 -18. other scores; A.Stone, J.Hilton, E.Link & P.Billett 14-24, B. D/Jones, B.Johnson, R.Herbert & P.Scott 12-22.

The Bridport A team won 50-45 in Divison Two helped by a good 25-10 win by C.Taylor, D.Hoskins, S.Bartlett & C.Langdon. Other scores; I.Newett, P.Tibble, T.Tocher & M.Sanger 12-17,  M.Craddock, P.Carnell, J.Ireland & D.Smith 13-18.

In the mens friendly against Yeovil it was very close in rinks but Yeovil just pinched a win 66-65. Top rink was B.Pratt, P.Scott & N.Payne 21-11.

The ladies were unlucky to go out of Top Club. After being all square at the end of the game they lost two of the three deciding disciplines.

In the South Dorset League an exciting finish ended in a win for the ladies 40-36. Liz Kennedy, Margaret Strange & Marion Carter were 14-14 going into the last end and won 15-14. Mary Corfield, Sheila Jones & Jan Tattershall were four shots down on the 17th end but the skip picked up the jack to score four resulting in a 25-22 win.

The friendly against Axminster resulted in a huge 90-35 win. Top triple was L.Kennedy, G.Hunt & K.Brooks 29-8.

The Men’s South Dorset team defeated  Portland Victoria 56-52; P.Medland, B.Seadon, K.Brooks & M.Soloman 19-21, C.Taylor, B.Jones, P.Scott & D.Smith 25-14, M.Craddock, P.Carnell, T.Tocher & K.Sanger picked up four on the last end to win 18-17.

Finally, the Bridport Ladies defeated Gillingham 65-48  in the Dorset League winning on all three rinks; M.Strange, D.Street, M.Carter & R.Brooks 18-16, S.Jenkins, G.Hunt, A.Tibble & M.Clapp 25-14, P.Daters, L.Kennedy, J.Wilcox & P. Cornick 22-18.
