Frome end their season at Ashbrittle with 14th victory


FROME brought their season to a winning conclusion in the Premier Division of the Best Western Shrubbery Hotel Somerset League as they notched up their 14th victory when they travelled to Ashbrittle.

However they found things far from easy against the West Somerset side. Batting first the visitors were all out for 200 which included 64 from Reece Croker.

In reply Ashbrittle were bowled out for 192 of which Andy Hill made 37, while for the visitors Joe Smart ended with four for 28.

Second-placed Uphill Castle proved to be too strong for their visitors Middlezoy who began the day third in the table.
Batting first the Zoy were bowled out for 68, Grant Purchase top -scoring with 28 and Steve Phillips taking four wickets for three runs in seven overs and George Cox three for eight from nine.

When the hosts replied they reached 71 for the loss of one wicket Luke Bliss ending unbeaten on 28.
