SOMERSET’S Lewis Gregory picked up two wickets and scored 39 runs but he could not prevent England Lions from falling to defeat in the second ODI against India A in Trivandrum.
Having been put into bat, India A captain Ajinkya Rahane (91) and man-of-the-match Hanuma Vihari (92) put on 181 for the second wicket after Jamie Porter bowled Anmolpreet Singh in the fifth over.
The Lions contained the run-scoring well in the final 15 overs as India reached 303/6, with Gregory and Zak Chappell picking up two good wickets each and Danny Briggs proving economical once more, conceding just 41 from his 10 overs.
Alex Davies top-scored in the Lions reply with a patient 48 and Gregory provided some lower-order resistance with an array of eye-catching shots but England were bowled out for 165.
The third ODI in the five-match series takes place at the same ground on Sunday.
