SOMERSET TO WELCOME BACK ALI AND FACE KENT IN OPENER

FORMER Pakistan captain Azhar Ali will be returning to Somerset County Cricket Club in 2019.

The 33-year-old will be available for both the Specsavers County Championship and the Royal London One-Day Cup.

Ali made a big impression both for Somerset in 2018 and scored more than 400 runs in seven County Championship matches with a best of 125.

Meanwhile, Somerset will begin our quest for the First Division crown with a home fixture against newly-promoted Kent on Friday, April 5 at the County Ground.

This will be followed by a trip to Trent Bridge to take on Nottinghamshire.

Champions Surrey will visit Taunton in May while Somerset we finish their fixtures with a home clash against Essex in September.
