Deserved victory for Bridport...

Bridport 3 Cadbury Heath 0

Toolstation Western League Premier Division

Bridport moved up to 11th in the Toolstation Western League after completing a League double over Cadbury Heath at St Mary’s last night.

The Bees, playing just their seventh home league fixture of the season, took the lead nine minutes before half time when ace marksman Mark Salter rose well to head home Oscar Latas’ dinked cross for his 21st goal of the campaign.

Salter turned provider for the second goal soon after the interval with clever flick from Lee Sweet’s cross which found strike partner Rich Hebditch who showed good technique to pivot and arrow a crisp volley into the corner.

The scoring was completed, and the three points sealed midway through the second period, when Leighton Thomas’ corner found it’s way directly into the Heathens’ net.

Frustratingly, Bridport, still looking to catch up with their fixtures are without a match on Saturday but return to action next Wednesday (February 28th) with the visit of seventh-placed Bridgwater Town (7.45pm ko).
