Dorchester Town skipper heads back to Shaftesbury...

DORCHESTER Town skipper Gary Bowles has left to club to rejoin Sydenhams Wessex Premier Division side Shaftesbury.

Bowles (29), who first appeared in the Magpies’ black and white shirt back in 2006 and clocked up almost 200 appearances at the Avenue Stadium, also signed for AFC Bournemouth and was a product of the Southampton and his home town Yeovil academies.

Rockies manger Nick Ward said: “Gary has returned to us after a season away at Dorchester, with the arrival of a new baby he wants to keep his travelling down.

“He’s a versatile player, a ball playing centre back and central midfielder, which really fits the bill for us. We’re delighted to have him on board.”

Bowles joins a Shaftesbury team which finished in 12th spot in the Wessex Premier table.
