Match Preview – Bristol City vs Manchester United


Bristol City will play Manchester United in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup tonight in with Bristol City and Manchester in fine form its should be an action packed game.

The Robins are the only championship team that remain in the competition, en route to the quarters they have defeated Plymouth, Watford, Stoke and Crystal palace.

This will be the 18th competitive meeting for the two sides at Ashton Gate, the last fixture was in 1979 when they had a thrilling 1-1 draw.

Bristol City boss, Lee Johnson said:

“We have to do the basics very well and impose our game on them. It won’t be easy but we are fit, strong and dangerous from set-pieces.”

“I don’t mind what team they pick. It’s Manchester United and any player they pick has earned that chance and will be world class.”

“If United put an Under-23 side out, it would still be a big test. We just have to go out, enjoy it and play our own game.”

The game will be live on Sky Sports at 20:00.

Bristol City have a long list of injury, but hopefully they wills till be able to put on a show against Man Utd, City are without record signing Diedhiou other players out due to injury are Milan Djuric, Callum O’Dowda, Ivan Lucic, Korey Smith, Eros Pisano, Gary O’Neil, Jens Hegeler.

Man Utd Team News:

Antonio Valencia will most likely be out with a hamstring injury after coming off against West From on Sunday, Eric Bailly, Marouane Fellani and Michael Carrick also remain out of the squad due to injury. Paul Pogba suspension is over so he is likely to make a return.
