Murnane at the helm for 60th Anniversary season...

DAN Murnane is to continue as Millwey Rise first team manager for the club’s 60th anniversary season.

Murnane (32) led Rise to a second successive fifth place finish in the Devon & Exeter League last season having previously led the Millwey Reserves team for a season and a half. Murnane said: I’m proud once again to be given the job of moving the football club forward. We have several promising youngsters coming through the club’s youth section, who will have the chance to play senior football this season, which is pleasing to see.

“Our goal is to challenge for all honours this season, while sticking to our footballing philosophy. Pre-season starts at Cloakham Lawn on Saturday, June 30th (3pm-4.45pm). We are looking to sign a first team goalkeeper to strengthen our squad.”

Murnane will be helped by assistants Chris Jones and Shane Featherstone, while Mark Enticott and Craig Mitchell continue as the club’s Reserve team joint managers.
