Plymouth Argyle’s Senior Greens supporters’ club are hoping to re-start their monthly meetings in September, writes Gareth Davies.

However, the club were keen to stress that nothing is set in stone as of yet and a further committee meeting next month could produce a definite date with Thursday, September 24 their preferred choice.

Speaking to The Independent this week, Seniors Greens’ spokesperson Sylvia Warren also revealed that if meetings do start again in September, then numbers will be limited.

She said: “Unfortunately, owing to coronavirus there will only be capacity for 150 of our members to attend and since we have 325 members, there will not be enough room to accommodate all of us.

“Therefore, anyone who is interested in attending this meeting can contact our membership secretary Jan MacGregor either by email or telephone to register. It will be the first 150 who apply that will be able to come to any prospective meeting and when capacity is filled, members will be advised and added to the list for the following meeting.

“We know some people will be disappointed but this is the only way we can deal with the present situation which will hopefully change and revert back to normality as soon as possible.”

Mrs Warren also advised that any attendees will be required to submit their details for track and trace purposes too.

She added: “For those who will be attending, we would ask that you write your name, address, email – if you have one – and contact number down beforehand and give it to Jan prior to the meeting. This information is absolutely necessary for Covid-19 contact and trace reasons.

“We would also ask that anyone who books but can’t subsequently attend are to inform the Senior Greens as soon as is practically possible.

“Finally, the Senior Greens would like to thank all our members for their patience.

“We look forward to seeing you soon and hope that you understand why we have to limit the numbers who can attend.”

For further information and to book places in September’s meeting, should it take place, members are asked to contact Jan MacGregor via e-mail: seniorgreens. or via phone on 01752 605 803.
