BRISTOL City’s Shawn McCoulsky has joined Forest Green Rovers for an undisclosed fee.

The 21-year-old Londoner has been on loan at Southend United this term.

Since joining City in 2015, he has also had loan spells at Newport County, Bath City, Torquay United and Weston-super-Mare, but he will now join Forest Green on a permanent deal until the end of the 2021 season.

Bristol City chief executive Officer Mark Ashton said: “The switch to Forest Green Rovers is a good deal for the club and also for Shawn at this point in his career. The move will see Bristol City Football Club retain a large value in the future of the player.”

McCoulsky said: “Having played against Forest Green Rovers last year, their style of football stood out and it’s a club moving in the right direction, a very ambitious club that are doing well in the league and I wanted to be a part of it. The two-and-a-half-year deal gives me that security and a chance to knuckle down.”

Forest Green manager Mark Mark Cooper said: “He is a player I have monitored for a couple of years having seen him play for Bath City and his pace excited me. He has scored goals wherever he has been and the more goals you have got in your team, the better.”
