Bridgwater through after ‘strange’ win

Once again the League will be well represented in the first round proper of the Buildbase FA Vase.

Bridgwater Town earned a trip to Bashley following their 5-4 victory at AFC St Austell and happy boss Karl Baggaley acknowledged: “It was a strange game, a fantastic one for neutrals but not so good if you were a manager of either team! I had told the lads to get out there and enjoy themselves and put everything into their efforts.

“The club has come through a very difficult period and I feel that we’re seeing the fruits of the labours of a very hard-working committee and everyone behind the scenes at Fairfax Park.”

Baggaley acclaimed Town’s travelling faithful, adding: “I have nothing but praise for the 30-odd fans and I know that the lads really appreciated their support.”

Meanwhile Steve Holland, Kyle Paine and debutant Sam Hallett are fighting to overcome hamstring, knee and ankle injuries respectively.
