JUST six of the scheduled 28 matches in the Macron Devon & Exeter League survived the Bank Holiday downpour.

Champions elect Elmore took the opportunity to extend their lead at the top of the Premier Division beating Exwick Villa 1-0 with their 16th successive win. At the other end of the table Seaton Town remain in the bottom two after 4-2 home home defeat by mid tablers Upottery, Josh French and Seth Wakely netted the consolations.

Meanwhile, a 6-0 win at Halwill saw East Budleigh put further distance between themselves and the drop zone.

The only game in Division Four saw Fention Reserves chalked up a good home win in beating St Martins 3-1.

The day’s biggest scorers were HT Dons who thrashed hosts newton Poppleford 7-2. Lee Varvel scored a hat trick for the Dons whose other goals came from Lee Grimshaw (2) and subs Dan Anthony and Scott Parnell.

Down in Division Eight leaders Okehampton Argyle Reserves moved three points clear at the top after a 5-2 win over struggling Sandford Reserves.
