MATCH REPORT: Plain sailing for Terras

Goodship brace gives Weymouth an away win...

A Brandon Goodship double saw the striker return to the top of the division’s goal scoring charts but more importantly helped the Terras banish memories of their last match on the road – a disappointing reverse at lowly Dunstable.

It wasn’t all plain sailing for Mark Molesley’s men and Royston, The Crows, swooped in the 18th minute when John Frendo’s header looped over on-loan AFC Bournemouth keeper Will Dennis into the net. They had further chances in the opening quarter with Calvin Brooks forced to hook a deflected cross off the line, but the Terras eventually forged a foothold.

They equalised seven minutes after the interval when Goodship’s scuffed shot squeezed under Crows’ young keeper Josh Tibbetts.

The striker then notched up his 24th goal of the season from the penalty spot following a careless challenge by the hosts.

Having got through a four-game winless slump, Weymouth have now put together back-to-back wins and sit third in the table after Hereford lost 3-2 at King’s Lynn, who moved top, ahead of Saturday’s trip into Wales to take on Merthyr Town.
