Parkway flying the Peninsula flag in Vase

Plymouth Parkway take centre stage on Saturday when they entertain Midland Football League outfit Westfields at Bolitho Park (3.00 pm) in the third round of the Buildbase FA Vase.

Victory for Parkway would ensure the Peninsula League would retain an interest in the Vase this season and would also see the Devon outfit exempt until the Second Round Proper in the 2018-19 competition.

Westfields were in 11th place in their league, with games in hand over all those above them, before yesterday’s home game against Quorn.

But they have saved their best performances for the Vase having won three home ties against Stapenhill (4-2), Daventry Town (6-0), and Shifnal Town (6-0) before winning 2-1 away at Willand Rovers in the last round.
