Don’t give up on us yet, pleads Dolphins’ boss

“Don’t give up on us yet”. That’s the plea Poole Town chairman Chris Reeves has made to those Dolphin faithful disillusioned with results so far this season.

Poole are currently lying in 19th position in the National South League, with just four wins from their first 19 games, none of them at home.

But with recent decent results against Concord and Eastbourne, Mr Reeves, writing in his blog on the club website, points out that they have strengthened the side providing “genuine optimism” for the rest of the season.

In explaining the reason behind the poor results during the first few weeks of the season, Mr Reeves points out that they lost two players of huge significance last summer with Marvin Brooks joining Salisbury and Luke Roberts through serious injury.

“Marvin has of course now returned to everyone’s great delight and the acquisition of Warren Bentley has provided a significant goal threat in the absence of such a quality performer as Luke,” said Mr Reeves.

“My message, therefore, to the supporters who came to us regularly last season but have not come back in such numbers over the course of the last few weeks is – come back!”

Poole Town’s next home game will be on Saturday, December 2 when they entertain Dartford who are in second place in the National South Division.
