SIMPSON THANKS TWITTER FAN

Grecians' star Simpson closing in on first-team return following leg break...

EXETER City striker, Robbie Simpson, has given a pair of his boots to the fan who supported him through his rehabilitation from a broken leg by Tweeting a picture of him every day for 241 days.

Simpson sustained the injury in February 2017 and has recently turned out for the reserves – scoring with his first touch – as he plots his first-team return.

“I think it annoyed quite a few people – waking up to a Tweet from him every day and seeing a picture of me,” Simpson told exetercityfc.co.uk. “It is a bit weird, I guess, but fair play to him. I really appreciated that support so I thought I’d give him a pair of boots.

“There have been plenty of really good wishes from fans, I can’t thank them enough. I really appreciate that and the support I have had over the past year.”
