SMITH RULED OUT FOR THREE MONTHS

AFC Bournemouth have confirmed that defender Adam Smith will be sidelined for up to three months after a suffering a knee injury recently.

The 27-year-old was stretchered off during the first half of their 2-1 defeat to Newcastle on November 10.

Smith’s injury is not as bad as first feared but he still faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after undergoing surgery to repair a cartilage tear in his right knee.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth defender Jack Simpson has been called up to the England under-21 squad for the first time, where he joins up with club colleague Lewis Cook.

England play Denmark on Tuesday after beating Italy 2-1 on Thursday.
