History made as Tiverton enjoy longest spell at the top of the Division

It is worth recording that a nice bit of history has been created at Tiverton Town after their impressive start to life back in the Evo-Stik Premier Division.

The 3-2 win against Basingstoke last weekend, the Yellows’ fifth straight home victory of the season, meant that Martyn Rogers’ side had enjoyed their longest ever spell at the top of the Division.

It surpassed their previous – brief – spells at the summit back in September 2002 (four days) and August 2006 (five days) and re- flects enormous credit on Rogers and his players in their first year back in the Premier Division after beating Salisbury in the pay- offs last season.

Furthermore it is also worth noting that Levi Landricombe’s two goals last weekend took his tally with the Yellows to 73 goals in 82 appearances – a staggering return.
