Argyle travel to Kent on a high

Plymouth Argyle travel to Kent to take on Gillingham in the second round of the SSE FA Cup today with their tails up after booking their spot in the semi-finals of the Swift-print Devon Sunday Senior Cup having beaten Alphington 11-1.

Five goals against Alphington took Plymouth Argyle’s Natasha Knapman’s tally to a remarkable 35 goals from just 11 games

Leading the challenge will be last season’s top goalscorer Natasha Knapman, whose five goals against Alphington took her tally to a remarkable 35 goals from just 11 games.

The Pilgrims will now receive local rivals Marine Academy Plymouth in the last four of the Devon competition.

Also looking to bank a healthy £900 with FA Cup success are Keynsham Town, Swindon Town and Brislington. Keynsham host Southampton, who put a dent in the West Country side’s promotion hopes last weekend when a Jane Yeates goal gave the Hampshire club victory.

Swindon will hope to put aside their miserable FA Women’s Premier League Southern season with a win at Brislington, who came away from Buckland Athletic 4-1 winners.

If successful, the teams will be in the hat for the third round with the ties due to take place on Sunday, January 7.
