Yeovil Town will be looking for a bumper gate at Huish Park when they entertain League champions Manchester City, again with a much-changed squad reflecting plenty of closed-season activity.
The Lady Glovers have made two late signings, with former Minot State University player, 23-year-old Chloe Melton, arriving along with Wales international Georgia Evans, who has switched from Bristol City.
Melton previously played for Reading before moving to America and remains ambitious to succeed in the women’s game. “I hope I can help drive the club to continue to develop and be successful,” she said.
Manager Jamie Sherwood believes that her attitude, character and work ethic will be invaluable to Yeovil in their first season in the top flight.
“She has a keen eye for goal and her athleticism will give us another option and an added dimension,” he said.
‘Georgia (Evans) is also a tenacious midfielder who is comfortable playing in either a holding role or a more advanced and destructive role. I feel that her wealth of experience at such a young age and prior knowledge of this level will again strengthen this young squad and give us a stronger willingness to deliver our goals.’
