Sion Bebb continued his fantastic run by taking £1,500, the largest cheque for a one-day West pro-am in the M J Baker Golf Day at Woodbury Park, near Exeter.
His immaculate iron play led to six birdies in a six-under fault-free return of 67. This relegated long-time leader Lee Thompson (Dudsbury) to second one shot behind after a round containing eight birdies.
Locals Kevin Harper, from the next-door club East Devon, and Paul Hendriksen (Ivybridge) shared third on 69. Harper did not drop a shot and birdied the first, sixth, 14th and 16th. Hendriksen eagled the 16th and made birdies at the first, sixth, tenth. His only error came at the short 15th.
Giuseppe Licata (Chipping Sodbury) also eagled the 16th to share fifth on 70 with former Woodbury as- sistant Tom Jessamine (Exeter), James Ruth (China Fleet) and Jon Bevan (Sherborne).
Richard O’Hanlon led the winning team of Simon Carr, Lee Tyrrell and Alan Clitheroe on 90 points. Bevan with Kevin Phillips, Kevin Howells and Tim Williams were two behind while home teaching pro Gary Milne piloted Noel Pond, Clive Partoll and John Veale into third on 86.
