DORSET AND WILTSHIRE DO BATTLE

Dorset victorious in first golfing encounter against Wiltshire...

GOLFERS representing Dorset and Wiltshire locked horns at Broadstone Golf Club last week in the first of what it is anticipated will be an annual match played in a Ryder Cup style format with each team made up 10 players – the top six from their respective counties winter order merits and four captains picks on each side.

The Format was 4 ball better ball which is 2V2,  so five points up for grabs. The Captains were Kieron Fowler (Lyme Regis GC, Dorset) and Henry Pallas ( Upavon GC, Wiltshire,

Dorset won 4-1 in a tight competion where every match went down to the wire.

After the match Fowler said: “A huge thank you to our sponsors Croad & Co Ltd Accountants and MCSM Developments Limited, without their support the match would not have been able to take place.
