King’s College students selected for England Hockey Performance Centre

Hockey at King’s College, Taunton is thriving with 11 players from the school being selected for the England Hockey Performance Centre after working hard in the Development and Academy Centres.

The Performance Centre, which is based at King’s, offers a performance training environment and the centre’s meet regularly throughout the year as well as taking part in several competitions.

From these competitions, athletes are selected to play in the England Hockey Futures Cup, and it is from here that they can earn a spot in the under-16 and under-18 national sides.

Said Clare Hayes, King’s director of hockey: “We are extremely proud of our hockey here at King’s, where we strive to create an environment in which every player is valued and can reach their potential. Our Performance Centre athletes have worked incredibly hard to get where they are in their hockey, and we are very proud of them.”
