Bodmin all kitted out with donation

Bodmin Netball Club have been handed a £750 donation from Persimmon Homes Cornwall to help fund new kit for their youth players.

The thriving North Cornwall set-up boasts more than 100 members including four senior teams, two under-16 teams, two under-14 teams and an under-12 side.

The donation comes as part of Persimmon’s Healthy Communities scheme, and the club’s Sarah Powlesland enthused: “We’re thrilled to receive this generous donation. The club has more than doubled in the last three years, providing a safe and fun environment for women and girls to play netball socially or competitively.

“We want to rebrand so that all of our teams have the same kit. This money will go a long way towards achieving that.”

Every month sports clubs and in- dividuals in each of Persimmon’s 30 operating areas receive donations of £750, a total of £22,500.

On January 30 finalists from each region will be selected and a public vote will follow, with prizes of £200,000, £50,000 and £5,000 up for grabs.

Sue Gresswell, sales director at Persimmon Homes Cornwall, said: “Bodmin Netball Club is a fantastic club which has really grown over the last few years.

“They deserve to have new kit for their players and I’m sure this donation will help no end.”
