HONITON NETBALL WINTER LEAGUE DRAWS TO A CONCLUSION

Dramatic finale to the season...

THE final matches of the Honiton Netball Winter League have been completed.

Sidmouth Chicks had everything to play for against last year’s Division One Winter Season winners: Hi Q. A win would give Chicks the three points they needed in order to be named as this year’s winners, however it was not to be as Hi Q secured a win of 31-24 in an exhilarating match. As a result, the Chicks have been named as Division One runners-up.

Elsewhere in Division One, HNC Hot Shots were playing Flamingos. There were plenty of goals scored in this match: 93 in total with the majority scored by Flamingos meaning they scooped the three points resulting in them ending the season as the winners of Division One, based on goal difference.

Also in Division One, Sidmouth Toucans played well against HNC 3Ts; they only conceded nine goals and netted 33.

In Division Two, Sidmouth Eagles played Signs South West. It has been an extremely successful first winter season for the young team and they ended their first winter league on a high; making the game their fourth win in four play-off games with a score of 35-30. The unbeatable team will be promoted to Division One as winners of Division Two along with Beer Blazers who finished as runners-up.

Despite missing their usual goal attack, Pixies held their own in their match against JD Tyres and prevented JD from taking three points resulting in them missing out on promotion and finishing as runners-up. Pixies won their game 28-17.

The final match to report on is that of Otter Valley against HNC Honeyz. Otter Valley secured a large goal difference and win from the match after it finished 24-5.
