Glovers handed Kolya a real treat

Footie fan Dan Farrant arranged a special day for a child from the region ravaged by the Chernobyl nuclear meltdown of 1986.

Kolya Mazanovich, 10, is staying with Dan and his family in Yeovil, having arrived from Belarus with the Chernobyl Child Charity, which supports children growing up in the country.

Glovers supporter Dan brought Kolya’s story to the attention of sponsor, Jones Build- ing Group, and the Belarusian was made mascot for the clash against Port Vale last Saturday, kitted out with a replica kit with ‘Kolya 10’ on the reverse.

Meeting manager Darren Way and his first-team players, Kolya took in his first experience of a live football match.
