A LUXURY holiday company is set to launch this week, bringing with it an investment of £12million and what it calls a new concept for the staycation market.
Beyond Escapes Devon will create 60 new jobs and contribute an estimated £1.5million to the local economy each year.
Located near Totnes, the Devon experience aims to offer boutique-style accommodation and facilities including a spa and gym.
The on-site BE Tempted Restaurant will offer an à la carte menu and cater for 100 sittings per evening, with breakfast, light bites offered throughout the day and a takeaway menu.
Chef Dean Rivers says the menu has been heavily influenced by its coastal location, with locally- sourced seafood and other fresh produce championed.
Dean said: “I really enjoyed my time at Bistro Pierre, learning the management side of the job and being given the chance to run a large, busy kitchen; but when the job came up it was just too good to miss.
“Like most chefs, I like being able to do what I want, injecting a bit of my own personality into the food we create and that’s what I’m most looking forward to, being able to shape the restaurant in these early stages and make it something really special!
“My father has worked in the fruit and vegetable industry since I was a kid so working with local produce has always been a passion of mine.
“Here we can see the sea and are surrounded by fields, so there’s an abundance of beautiful, fresh produce on our doorstep that will be championed across each seasonal menu – from field to fork and boat to throat!”
Beyond Escapes Devon will accommodate around 230 guests.
