POLICE APPEAL FOR WITNESSES FOLLOWING ARSON ATTACKS IN REDRUTH


POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a number of arson attacks in Redruth.

Officers are investigating a series of incidents in the Treruffe Hill, Sunnyside, Bond Street and Clinton Road areas of the town.

The most recent incidents happened on Friday, April 5 between 11pm and 11.30pm when a van parked in the rear car park of the library on Clinton Road was set on fire and totally destroyed.

There were also attempts to set two fires at the back of the library on between 1pm on Saturday, March 30 and 8am on Monday, April 1.

Police are also investigating an attempt to set fire to a disused garage on Sunnyside just after 9pm on Thursday, April 4. A local resident noticed the fire and extinguished it before it was able to take hold.
