Redruth British Rail A are the early leaders of the West Cornwall Mining League, with Ryan Curnow soon into his stride with a break of 37 in the 4-1 win over Breage.
Top break so far was made by Rob Johns, of St Rumons, with a 60, while Aiden Johns (no relation) contributed a 36 in their 4-1 victory over Playing Place.
Park Bottom’s Simon Gill knocked in a 45 break in their 4-1 win at Redruth Rail B, and Eddie Manning contributed a 49 in STR Clinton’s 4-1 success at St Day. The latter have been allotted a minus-ten handicap again this season, so they may take a while to catch up.
Three teams share the lead in Division Two, with Four Lanes, Penponds A and Playing Place B all on six points. Four Lanes had a good 4-1 win at Redruth British Rail, despite Sam Waterhouse’s fine 45 break for the hosts. Redruth British Rail lead Division Three.
