BATH WINGER FACING BATTLE TO BE FIT FOR SIX NATIONS

BATH’S England winger Joe Cokanasiga could be facing a race against time to be fit for the start of the Six Nations.

The 21-year-old suffered knee ligament damage in Bath’s Champions Cup defeat by Leinster at the weekend.

The Premiership club say they expect the powerful back to return to action by early January, but that does not give him long to prove his fitness with the opening Six Nations game on February 2.

Cokanasiga made a big impression in England’s autumn internationals against Japan and Australia last month.

Meanwhile, Bath hope to have Jonathan Joseph (foot ligament), Paul Grant (calf strain), Tom Homer (shoulder), Rhys Priestland (adductor strain) and Taulupe Faletau (fractured forearm) back this month.
