BRISTOL SIGN OSPREYS HOOKER PARRY ON SHORT-TERM DEAL

BRISTOL Bears have signed Ospreys hooker Sam Parry on a short-term loan deal, with Jordan Lay going in the opposition direction.

With Shaun Malton and Will Capon out with injuries, Bristol head coach Pat Lam (pictured) was keen to strengthen his hooking options.

In exchange for 27-year-old Parry, who has been in Wales training squads but without getting a full cap, moving to Ashton Gate, Samoan-born prop Lay will go to the Liberty Stadium for four weeks.

Lam said: “We’re missing Shaun and Will to long-term injuries, so it was important we added depth to that position with a crucial period coming up. Ospreys were looking for a front rower, so it’s the ideal situation to give Jordan [Lay] an opportunity to get some minutes under his belt at the same time.”
