THE Cornish Pirates have strengthened their front-row options for next season by signing Jersey prop Sam Rodman.
The 26-year-old Cheshire-born player has penned a two-year contract with the Penzance-based club, who were looking for a replacement for Christian Judge, who has moved to the Premiership.
Cornish Pirates co-coach Alan Paver said: “We are really pleased to have signed Sam because he is a big powerful scrummager. With Judgey going (Christian Judge) there has been a bit of a hole there, so identifying him, it is really good that we’ll have a player of such calibre, quality and ability on board.”
Rodman added: “The Cornish Pirates have been in the Championship for a long time and in a stable position league-wise are now looking to push on and make advances both on and off the field. With this in mind, for me it is an opportunity not to miss, and I am really looking forward to being part of this journey and to help the club achieve its goals. In short, it should be an exciting couple of years, and I can’t wait to get stuck in.”
