HOOKER Dan Frost and back-row forward John Stevens are the latest Cornish Pirates players to sign new contracts with the Championship club.
Frost, 21, has signed for a further year after making 26 appearances for the Pirates, while Stevens, a product of Penzance & Newlyn’s youth section, has penned a new two-year deal.
Co-coach Alan Paver said: “Dan is an exciting player and we are really pleased to keep hold of him as he has developed into is a fine hooker. Having played in the back-row in the past he has also been able to bring forward those attributes and he always gives 150 per cent.
“He’s a young man who plays with his heart on his sleeve, he is someone who has the X-factor and can do something from nothing.
“John is another fine signing. It took him a while to get up and running because we had a lot of established back-rowers in his position but he stuck at it and is very determined.
“He is also very skilful, sees the game extremely well and is as tough as they come, which I really like. In the same mould as say Sam Betty and Matt Bolwell, you need to have such players in your environment to fully understand how valuable they are.”
