PIRATES WILL FACE JERSEY AWAY IN LAST EIGHT OF CUP


CORNISH Pirates will face Jersey Reds away in the quarter-finals of the inaugural Championship Cup.

The draw was made on Wednesday and the last eight ties will be played on the weekend of February 1-3, 2019.

Jersey won five games in the pool stages, but the Pirates impressed by beating London Irish in their last outing.

Elsewhere in the draw, Ealing Trailfinders’ were rewarded for winning five games out of six and finishing top of pool two with a home tie against Nottingham.

Leaders of the Greene King IPA Championship London Irish were the top scorers across the six games and they will host a Coventry side who finished second in pool three.

Despite being bottom of the Championship, Yorkshire Carnegie have impressed in the cup winning five games to top pool one and they will now face Bedford Blues in front of their own fans.
