CORNISH Pirates prop Christian Judge has returned to Saracens for the rest of the season.
Judge had a loan spell with the Premiership club in the first half of the campaign and made 12 appearances before returning to the Pirates at the end of January.
Since then he featured for the Pirates in their Championship Cup quarter-final victory away to Jersey Reds and in last week’s league win at Richmond.
Cornish Pirates’ co-coach Gavin Cattle said: “Returning to Saracens provides another great opportunity for Christian. They have their injury issues and obviously recognise his efforts during his time on loan there.
“Christian’s contribution has been exceptional during his brief return, both on and off the field, and the chance to ply his trade at the top level of domestic rugby for Sarries and then at Bath, who it has been previously announced he will be joining next season, is of great credit. He has a bright future ahead and we wish him all the best.”
Judge is looking forward to pulling on a Saracens shirt again.
“It’s really great to be back,” said Judge. “My first spell at the club was an unforgettable experience which I loved and I’m relishing the opportunity to pull on a Sarries jersey again. The support I had here was humbling and I’m really looking forward to working hard and getting stuck in.
“I’d also like to take this opportunity to say a massive thank you to everyone at Cornish Pirates for everything they’ve done for me during my time at the club.
“The coaches Gav, Paves and Morgs alongside our support team have invested a great deal of time and energy into helping me develop and for that I’m hugely grateful. Likewise, I’d like to thank my teammates for many great memories both on and off the pitch. Finally, thank you to all of the fans who have been amazing from day one.”
Saracens ‘director of rugby Mark McCall added: “We are delighted to have Christian back with us for the rest of the season. He made a telling contribution in his first spell at the club and worked extremely hard at his game.
“He is highly respected by everyone at the club and we are looking forward to working alongside him in the exciting months ahead.”
