Crunch road trip for Albion’s title hopes

Plymouth Albion face a crucial match to their hopes of winning promotion out of National League One when they visit fellow high-flyers Darlington Mowden Park up in the north east on Saturday (2.00 pm).

The two sides went into yester- day’s game at home to Old Elthami- ans and away to Blackheath respectively locked together on 31 points, with six wins from their seven games, and three points behind unbeaten leaders and pre-season title favourites Coventry.

Darlington returned to winning ways last weekend, after their away defeat to Old Albanian, with a 36-21 home victory over league new boys Old Elthamians.

They have not lost at home since the end of April, when they went down 41-26 to Hull Ionians at the end of a sticky spell last season that saw them win only once in six league games.

Albion won at Darlington 20-17 last February, and would dearly love a repeat of that excellent result this time around.
