Thornbury playmaker Tim Stevens looks like being out of action for the rest of the season due to yet another injury.
Stevens, who plays at 10 or 12, has been more out than in due to injury for the past couple of campaigns. He was passed fit to return this season, but only lasted a few minutes in the opening game against Bideford before hobbling out of the game.
“Tim badly injured his hamstring in the first few couple of minutes and is probably out for the season,” said player-coach Tom Luke.
Thorns went into yesterday’s meeting with Matson looking for a second win of the season after beating Bridgwater, 26-19, last time out. Defeats by Bideford and Cornish All Blacks were not the start Luke was looking for, not that he is too down-beat.
“The season has gone okay so far,” said Luke. “We have shown glimpses of potential while making a few too many unforced errors.”
