TWO MORE CORNISH PIRATES PLAYERS SIGN NEW DEALS

FLY-HALF Will Cargill and number eight Tom Duncan are the latest Cornish Pirates players to sign new contracts with the Championship club.

The pair follow hooker Sam Matavesi, full-back Kyle Moyle and winger Robin Wedlake in signing two-year deals.

Crewe-born Cargill, 29, joined the Cornish Pirates in 2015 and has made 84 appearances for them, scoring 431 points.

Cornishman Duncan, 28, joined the Pirates in December 2012. Repeated injuries initially frustrated and hampered his potential to shine at Championship level, however, having battled through set-backs he has blossomed. He is now just five short of the 100 games milestone and has scored an impressive 51 tries.

Cornish Pirates co-coach Gavin Cattle said: “Having been through the whole process, Will has a deep understanding of how we play the game. His distribution skills have helped us accelerate and he is very experienced.

“Tom, a Cornishman, is another consistent performer. Often our main source of ‘go forward’, he is also, as the stats confirm, been a quite prolific try-scorer.”
