The LTA have released their end-of-year school rankings and two Dorset schools, Talbot Heath and Bournemouth Collegiate School, are ranked in the top ten.
Talbot Heath are number one in the country for girls and Bournemouth Collegiate came in at number six for boys.
Both schools train at the High Performance Tennis Centre at the West Hants Club in Bournemouth and their director of tennis, Mark Reid, said: “We have continued to build on the success that the Academy programme has achieved over the last few years and 2017 has proven to be another very successful year.
“Talbot Heath have retained their No.1 ranking for the fourth consecutive year and Bournemouth Collegiate School have cemented their position in the top-ten for the third consecutive year.”
Other South West schools featuring in the national rankings for boys are: Millfield School (fourth), St Peter’s High School, Gloucester (tenth), Millfield Prep School (14th), Truro College (=16th) and Exeter School (=24th). While joining Talbot Heath in the girls’ category are: Millfield School (fourth), and Red Maid’s School, Bristol and Marlborough College (both =24th).
