Taylor Marsland, a foundation studies student at Truro and Penwith College, came away from the GB National Games Special Olympics with two medals.
Held in Sheffield, the competition was a display of sporting talent from across the country with Taylor winning his medals for tennis – silver in the singles and a bronze in the doubles with his tennis partner James Jennings, also of Penwith College. “I’m so happy,” said Marsland. “The first match was hard because there were lots of people watching but it got easier when I got more confident.”
Marsland is now hoping to build on his success in Sheffield when he competes in Nottingham at the end of the month.
