PORTLAND BEGIN MANAGER SEARCH

Bailey rules himself out...

PORTLAND United have begun the search for a new manager after interim boss Gary Bailey informed club representatives that he would not be available for the role next season.

Bailey, who had a hugely successful time in his previous time in the Grove Corner dug out leading the team to the Wessex Premier Division title in 2016-17, took over in a caretaker capacity when the club parted company with previous incumbent, and his successor, Simon Brown in January.

Portland finished 15th in the table this season with Bailey banking 16 points in his 15 league games in charge – with his efforts at the club being recognised with the ‘Outstanding contribution as manager’ award at the recent Dorset FA annual awards.

Anybody interested in applying should contact club chairman Robin Satherley on 01305-820 389 or 07513-953 778. The closing date is Tuesday, May 22nd.
